Macquarie Lightstation became operational on 30 November 1818, when the lantern was lit for the first time. To celebrate the 206th anniversary of this historic occasion, join us for a special tour on Friday 29 November.

As you explore Macquarie Lightstation, a knowledgeable guide will share the stories of this significant navigational light source. You will learn about the significance of First Nations peoples, gain insights into the evolution of the lighthouse itself, and learn about recent archaeological work. PLUS: You’ll ascend the lighthouse to discover the lantern room and emerge onto the balcony for a sweeping view of Sydney Harbour and the Pacific Ocean. Access to the lighthouse is exclusive to this tour, don’t miss out. Book tickets today to explore the site of Australia’ original lighthouse.
