Bella Vista Cafe (North Head Sanctuary)

Located at North Head Sanctuary, a nature refuge on the Manly peninsula, Bella Vista Cafe brings traditional and modern Italian cuisine together and packages them up with an unbeatable view of Sydney Harbour, encompassing the Pacific Ocean, South Head and the iconic city skyline. Bordered by coastal bushland, this cafe is an ideal spot for friends and family to gather, enjoy some tranquility and share a memorable brunch experience.

  • Signature dish: Bella Vista offer a range of healthy brekkie options, including a guilt-free nourish bowl, but if you want to be sneaky, you could dip into their lunch menu early and try their signature dish: Marinara and the Porchetta. You're not breaking the rules, you're making them!
  • Pair with: The Sanctuary Loop – a picturesque 3km circuit featuring 4 lookouts of Sydney Harbour, local wildlife and historic sites like the Third Quarantine Cemetery and Australia’s Memorial Walk. Check out our top 4 coastal walks blog for an infographic outlining the walk route, including key points of interest.
Burnt Orange (Middle Head)

Housed in the Mosman Golf Club’s former clubhouse – a beautifully renovated building dating to the 1920s – Burnt Orange is a boutique restaurant set within beautiful bushland at Middle Head / Gubbuh Gubbuh. The venue has thrown down the gauntlet, boldly claiming on their website to make the ‘best breakfast in Sydney’. A glance at their menu and you can understand why! Who wouldn’t want to tuck into a banana hotcake with dulce and lemon curd – or a Mediterranean style breakfast bruschetta – while basking in the view offered by Burnt Orange’s wraparound veranda?

  • Special offer: Enjoy a free coffee with every breakfast main ordered from Wednesday to Friday in November. When booking, use the code: HTNOV.
  • Pair with: A scenic stroll to nearby Chowder Bay / Gooree via Georges Heights. Check out our top 4 coastal walks blog for a helpful infographic that outlines the walk and identifies points of interes

Middle Head Cafe (Middle Head / Gubbuh Gubbuh)

Tucked away in coastal bushland at the tip of the Mosman Peninsula, Middle Head Cafe is a pet- and family-friendly cafe featuring sheltered decks. Here, you can enjoy a leisurely brunch while marveling at the beauty of the world’s most stunning harbour, all while the kids play at the nearby Middle Head Oval.

  • Signature dish: Their traditional French fare including crepes, quiches and baguette sandwiches.
  • Pair with: A scenic coastal walk through Headland Park from Middle Head / Gubbuh Gubbuh to Chowder Bay / Gooree via Georges Heights. You'll discover multiple harbour lookouts on a journey that culminates at the tranquil Clifton Gardens Beach.

Frenchy’s Cafe (Georges Heights)

Located in the Headland Park Artist Precinct at Georges Heights, Mosman – home to a thriving community of creatives – Frenchy’s Cafe is a chic French-themed cafe that enjoyed by everyone from young families and cyclists through to dog walkers and hikers. Set amongst artist studios that are housed in heritage buildings and just moments away from some jaw-dropping coastal vista, it’s the perfect place to savour authentic Parisian brasserie dishes and coffee.

  • Signature dish: For our money, it's hard to go past the bacon and egg brioche bun – a classic at its finest. Of course, if you're leaning more towards lunch on the brunch spectrum, the Duck Leg Confit is a winner.
  • Pair with: A military history tour of Georges Heights. During our Tunnels and Gunners Tour (available on select Saturdays), a knowledgeable volunteer guide will lead you through 2 sets of demilitarised forts, including tunnels normally off limits to the public.
Gunners’ Barracks (Georges Heights)

Today, the Gunners’ Barracks at Georges Heights is a celebrated high tea, à la carte and wedding reception venue with commanding views of Sydney Harbour. Originally, however, the elegant sandstone structure formed part of the colony’s network of coastal defences. Let this sense of history, as well as the coastal bushland serenity afforded by the venue’s location, heighten your next brunch outing. Available form 10am, Gunners’ Barracks traditional high tea is an irresistible option for those seeking a late breakfast.

  • Signature dish: High tea – freshly baked scones with cream and preserve plus petit pastries, sandwiches and cakes.
  • Special offer: In November, enjoy a free upgrade from the ‘Traditional High Tea’ to the ‘Sparkling High Tea’. When booking a Traditional High tea, use the code HarbourTrustSPK1124 to unlock the upgrade. Offer only valid for bookings made in November 2024.
  • Pair with: A post-brunch stroll to nearby Georges Head Lookout for panoramic coastal views and historic gun emplacements.
