North Head Sanctuary’s iconic Parade Ground will again serve as the venue for Night at The Barracks. Boasting a distinctive red gravel surface, the Parade Ground is the centrepiece of the Barracks Precinct – a collection of Art Deco buildings, set within gorgeous coastal bushland, that occupy a significant place in Australia’s military history.
This year’s line-up boasts the legendary Hoodoo Gurus alongside other household names including Missy Higgins, Kate Ceberano (with the Metropolitan Orchestra) and Tina Arena (exclusive Sydney performance). Other exciting acts include Tom Burlinson Big Band, the Rolling Stones Revue (feat. Adalita, Tex Perkins and Tim Rogers), Bjorn Again, James Morrison's Motown Experience and History of House – a collaboration between DJ Groove Terminator and Soweto Gospel Choir.
Janet Carding, Executive Director of the Harbour Trust, expressed her delight in welcoming Night at The Barracks back to North Head Sanctuary. "Events like this bring life and energy to our historical sites and attract new visitors to come and enjoy our special places," she said.
To ensure the preservation of the wildlife sanctuary, organisers have taken careful consideration of the local fauna. Last year's concerts and traffic management had no adverse effects on the bandicoots and other animals that call North Head Sanctuary their home, allowing them to continue thriving. This year, the event's organisers, in collaboration with the Harbour Trust, have reinforced their commitment to preserving North Head Sanctuary's biodiversity.
The Harbour Trust is pleased to be supporting Night at The Barracks as official venue partner.
