This is a Mosman Council proposal. Council advised that the purpose of the proposal was to provide improved facilities for oval and park users, as well as improving the arrival experience to the Middle Head / Gubbuh Gubbuh precinct.
The proposal is on Harbour Trust land. Therefore, the Harbour Trust was the relevant planning approval authority. The Harbour Trust has granted Mosman Council a Planning Permit with the following key conditions:
- The proposed demolition of the amenities building and construction of a replacement in the proposed new location is approved.
- The proposed open-sided shelter is not approved.
- The proposed vehicle layover bay is not approved – instead new vehicle drop-off/pick-up arrangements must be provided in the adjacent Car Park 2.
- The proposed landscaped area must be re-designed in close consultation with the Harbour Trust to ensure a unified design across the precinct, that minimises hard stand areas and provides shade trees for park users.
