Bushfire safety information for visitors

Bushfires are currently affecting some parts of Australia. Our thoughts are with impacted communities as well as firefighters and frontline services facing the bushfires.

Many destinations across Australia remain safe and are welcoming of visitors, including all of the Harbour Trust’s sites. However, we encourage you to refer to Tourism Australia online information hub ahead of your next visit. This resource provides safety advice, alerts and other information, including links to regional websites and the safety status of popular destinations nationally.

Tourism Australia advises travellers to always seek up-to-date information for their planned itinerary ahead of departure and to remain informed about changing conditions.

We also encourage you to monitor the NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS) website for alerts including fire danger ratings, and to check the Harbour Trust’s website and social media channels for updates. In the event that RFS issues a ‘Catastrophic’ fire danger rating for the Greater Sydney Area, the Harbour Trust will close North Head Sanctuary, Manly as well as public walkways at Headland Park, Mosman.
