Harbour Trust launches what3words for accurate location reporting and emergency response

The Harbour Trust has launched what3words across all our extraordinary places on Sydney Harbour, making it easier for visitors, tenants and contractors to communicate precise locations quickly and accurately. This innovative geocoding system will significantly improve safety and emergency response capabilities.

World’s biggest release of seahorses completed by SIMS at Chowder Bay

On Tuesday 18 July, the Sydney Institute of Marine Science (SIMS) – in partnership with the University of Technology Sydney and the NSW Department of Primary Industries – successfully released 300 juvenile endangered White's Seahorses at Chowder Bay in Mosman.

Historic military landmark Gunners Barracks turns 150

This month, the Harbour Trust is commemorating the 150th anniversary of a historic military landmark under its protection at Georges Heights in Mosman. Today, the Gunners Barracks is a celebrated high tea, à la carte and wedding reception venue with commanding views of Sydney Harbour. Originally, however, the elegant sandstone structure formed part of the colony’s network of coastal defences.

See a WWII era torpedo at Cockatoo Island (media release)

For a limited time only, visitors to the Industrial Precinct can marvel at a WWII era submarine torpedo. The decommissioned Mark VIII torpedo was today transferred to Cockatoo Island from Spectacle Island’s military base. The Harbour Trust will eventually relocate the torpedo to Sub Base Platypus, its community recreation and work hub in North Sydney.

Consultation Outcomes on Middle Head / Gubbuh Gubbuh Draft Master Plan

From 14 March 2023 until 9 May 2023 the Harbour Trust’s Middle Head / Gubbuh Gubbuh Draft Master Plan was on public exhibition. The Harbour Trust has reviewed all feedback received during initial exhibition and created a Consultation Outcomes Report.
