Have Your Say: Middle Head Oval – proposed new amenities building

The Harbour Trust has received a planning application from Mosman Council for a proposed new amenities building at Middle Head Oval. The proposal is on Harbour Trust land. Therefore, the Harbour Trust is the relevant planning approval authority. We invite members of the community to review the proposal and provide comment via the Have Your Say page until 5pm Monday 29 July 2024 (AEST).

Harbour Trust turns back clock on historic observation posts

Between June 2022 and November 2023, the Harbour Trust – with the aid of specialist volunteers, including ex-servicepeople – undertook work to faithfully restore the Counter-Bombardment Observation Post and its sister facility, the Close Defence Battery Observation Post. These remnant observation posts were part of North Fort, the former Defence complex and artillery battery established at North Head in 1936.

Historic boat returns home to Cockatoo Island / Wareamah

On Wednesday 24 April, the Harbour Trust took ownership of the Fitzroy ferry and relocated it Cockatoo Island from Pittwater, where it had been in private use for decades. Measuring 3 metres (9 feet 8 inches), the wooden vessel once played a vital role in the island's maritime operations.
